What is CBD? I hear you ask. Well, let me tell you.

First things first, CBD stands for Cannabidiol which is simply a chemical compound that occurs naturally in cannabis flowers. The cannabis plant contains over 100 different cannabinoids.

Ok now I’m interested, how does it work?

It’s very simple actually. CBD and THC interact with our body’s endocannabinoid system. The human body has two receptors of cannabinoids, in addition to producing certain cannabinoids on its own. Receptor 1 is CB1, which deals with the brain, and CB2 that focuses on the immune system.

CBD works in a similar way to our body’s already existing endocannabinoid system, thus often restoring good health. It also encourages the body to produce more endocannabinoids.

So what you’re saying is it won’t get me high…?

That’s right! You see, tetrahydrocannabinol, or more commonly known as THC is the cannabinoid responsible for having psychoactive effects and the most commonly used. CBD and THC are closely related and are the two key cannabinoids inside the cannabis plant, but, CBD is different because CBD is non-psychoactive.

But I’m not a smoker, so how can I consume CBD?

Not to worry. Otherside Cannabinoid Dispensary London offers a variety of non-smoking products, from CBD oils to CBD balms. Not to mention the many CBD products they store for other manufacturers.

Check out their products here. These can all be purchased in-store and online.

What about third-party testing?

Here comes the best part, all products manufactured by Otherside London are in fact third-party tested, by PhytoVista Laboratories, UK-based premier hemp, and CBD testing facility.

Otherside London gives all customers access to their product lab results on their website, click here.

Last but not least, is CBD legal?

There is a lot of confusion around the laws surrounding CBD use in the UK. So let us make things clear, CBD is completely legal as long as it has been derived from an industrial-grade hemp strain, approved by the EU, and has a THC content of no more than 0.2%.

Luckily for you, all Otherside London products meet these requirements.

So in conclusion…

If you like what you’ve read and want to find out more or you’re ready to give CBD a go, head over to the Otherside London site, visit their West London store or check out their Instagram.
